Political newsletter #1 - Dec 20th, 2025

My dear friend,

This post is an adaptation of an email I sent on Dec 20th, 2025 as the first issue of a newsletter centred on politics that I will try to send out on a regular basis. This first issue is entirely dedicated to the New Democratic Party, but this won't be everything you will find in the next ones.

I am planning to keep writing some kind of updates at the very least until the NDP Federal Convention that will take place in Winnipeg in March (more on that here: https://convention.ndp.ca/) but hopefully also after that.

NDP Federal Party leadership

The race for the Federal Leadership of the NDP is underway, and we are lucky to have five fantastic candidates. You can learn more about them on the party's official website here: https://leadership.ndp.ca/contestants and read more about the leadership race at https://leadership.ndp.ca/.

Please consider donating to their campaigns - the Party has set a very high amount of donations that each contestant has to raise to stay in the race: over $130,000 to be collected in just 6 months (with about 3 months left and the deadline for the next instalment coming up fast on December 30th).

Upcoming federal leadership events

To learn more about the candidates, here are a couple of events that will be coming up soon (I will try and send an updated list of events as they come up and I get to know about them):

  1. Tony & Tanille's December 21st Telethon Fundraiser (online, all day on Dec 21st): https://www.youtube.com/live/6q3i-IXWuKc
  2. A Green New Deal for Saskatchewan - Avi Lewis (online, January 8th), 7:30–8:30 p.m): https://act.lewisforleader.ca/saskatchewan-solidary-session-environmental-focus

Review and Renewal Process Final Report 2025

Just released! You can find it here: https://www.ndp.ca/review-renewal-2025.
